These Terms of Service govern the use of the website at emmacarolinemua.hair and the booking of any service provided by EMMA CAROLINE MUA, LLC, including bridal trial sessions, wedding day application, editorial photo makeup, event and gala looks, on location touch-ups and skincare preparation consultations. By using the website or booking a service, you agree to these terms.
Please read these terms in full before making a booking. They explain what the studio provides, what is expected of clients and how both parties handle changes, cancellations and disputes.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing the website, sending an enquiry or confirming a booking, you accept these Terms of Service and agree to be bound by them. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the website or book a service.
These terms apply to every visitor to the website and to every client of the studio. Where a written booking agreement sets out terms that differ from this page, the written agreement takes priority for that specific booking.
You confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your region, or that you have the consent of a parent or guardian to make a booking. When you book on behalf of a group or a production, you confirm that you have the authority to do so.
2. About the Studio
EMMA CAROLINE MUA, LLC is a professional makeup artistry and computer integrated systems design studio based at 40 E 400 S, Bountiful - 84010-6222, United States (US). The studio provides bridal and event makeup services and applies disciplined systems thinking to the planning behind each booking.
The studio can be reached by email at studio@emmacarolinemua.hair or by telephone at +16609714281. These channels are the official means of communication for bookings, changes and questions.
The practice is built on two connected disciplines. The first is makeup artistry for brides, productions and celebration guests. The second is computer integrated systems design, which the studio applies to its own booking tools, records and event logistics. These terms cover both sides of the work, because a well planned booking is part of the service the studio promises.
The studio operates from a dressing room and consultation bench at the Bountiful address. Clients who travel from Salt Lake City, Davis County and the wider Wasatch Front are welcomed there for trials and preparation sessions. Where a service is delivered at a venue, the same standards of cleanliness, timing and care travel with the kit.
3. Booking and Confirmation
A booking is created when the studio confirms a date and service in writing after receiving an enquiry. An enquiry alone does not reserve a date, and a date remains open until the studio issues a written confirmation.
To make a useful enquiry, please provide the event date, the venue and the number of faces that need serving. The studio uses these details to confirm availability and to propose a realistic plan. A booking is only complete once the confirmation is issued and the agreed deposit is received.
The studio reserves the right to decline a booking where a date is already committed, where the request falls outside the services offered or where serving the request safely is not possible.
A confirmation typically states the service selected, the date and arrival time, the venue, the number of faces, the agreed fee and the deposit required. Once that confirmation is issued, both parties have a written record of what was promised, which protects the client as much as it protects the studio.
Enquiries are answered in the order they arrive, though a wedding date that is close at hand is treated with urgency. If a requested date cannot be served, the studio will say so plainly rather than leave a client waiting, and will suggest an alternative date or a partner artist where that is useful.
4. Fees and Payment
Fees for each service are quoted in writing before a booking is confirmed. The quotation states the service, the date, the location and any travel component, so that the total is clear in advance.
Prices may change over time, but a confirmed booking holds the price stated in its own confirmation. Additional services requested after confirmation, such as extra faces or an extended on location window, are quoted separately before they are added.
Payment may be made by the methods stated in the booking confirmation. The studio issues a receipt for every payment so that the client has a clear record.
Where a service involves travel, the quotation separates the artistic fee from the travel component, so the client can see exactly what the venue distance costs. Where a production requires the studio to hold a long window on set, the quotation states the window and the rate that applies if the window is extended.
A quotation remains valid for the period stated within it. If the studio has not received a reply by the end of that period, the date may be released to another client. This keeps the calendar honest and prevents a date from being held indefinitely without commitment.
5. Deposits and Final Balances
A booking deposit holds the wedding date and is applied to the final balance. The deposit amount and the payment schedule are set out in the booking confirmation.
The final balance is due before or on the event day, as stated in the confirmation. Where a balance remains unpaid after the agreed date, the studio may treat the booking as cancelled under the cancellation terms below.
Deposits are generally non-refundable because a confirmed date is held exclusively for the client. Where the studio must cancel for its own reasons, the deposit is returned in full.
Where the studio and the client agree to move a booking to a new date, the deposit is transferred to that new date rather than returned. This flexibility is offered at the studio discretion and depends on availability at the new date.
All balances, deposits and payments are recorded against the booking so that the history is transparent. A client can ask for a clear statement of what has been paid and what remains due at any point before the event day.
6. Trial Sessions
A bridal trial session is recommended for every wedding booking and is scheduled well before the ceremony. The session runs for the agreed period in the Bountiful studio and results in a photographed look sheet and a written product note.
The trial is the point at which the plan is agreed. Changes requested after the trial are accommodated where possible, but a significant change close to the event day may require additional time or an additional fee, which the studio will state in advance.
If a client arrives at the trial with a skin condition that was not disclosed, the studio may adapt the plan and may recommend a skincare consultation before the event day.
A client is welcome to bring a friend or family member to the trial for a second opinion, and many do. The studio asks only that the guest understands the trial is a working session and that the final look is approved by the client, not by the room.
The photographed look sheet and the written product note belong to the booking. They are stored so that the wedding morning can be run from a fixed reference, and they are removed when the record is no longer needed or when a client asks for their removal.
7. Wedding Day Services
On the wedding day the studio works from the approved trial plan and a printed timing sheet. The client agrees to provide a clean, safe and reasonably private space in which the work can be carried out.
The client also agrees to keep the schedule set out in the timing sheet, because late starts can affect every face that follows. Where the schedule slips for reasons within the client control, the studio will do its best but cannot guarantee the original finish times.
Where the wedding party includes several faces, the studio serves each person with a clean, sanitized kit and single-use applicators. The order of service is agreed in advance.
The studio will confirm a final headcount ahead of the day, since the number of faces affects the start time and the schedule. If the headcount rises on the day, the studio will serve the extra people where time allows and will state any adjustment to the fee afterwards.
If the studio artist becomes unwell on the morning of the wedding, the studio will notify the client immediately and will make every reasonable effort to arrange a qualified replacement. The client will be told clearly what is happening so that the day can be protected.
8. Editorial and Production Work
Editorial and production bookings begin with a look sheet tested against the lighting plan. The client agrees to provide accurate information about the shoot, including the lighting setup, the schedule and any continuity requirements.
Where a production requires a studio artist to remain on set for touch-ups, the agreed time window and the contact plan are set out in the confirmation. Extensions beyond that window are subject to availability and may be quoted separately.
The studio retains the right to use its own finished work in a portfolio only with consent, as described in the Privacy Policy. Client images and project materials are treated as confidential.
Where a shoot runs to a tight schedule, the studio appreciates a clear call sheet in advance. A call sheet that lists the talent, the looks and the order of setups lets the studio sequence its work so that the whole day runs smoothly rather than in a rush.
Continuity notes are kept for every editorial booking. If a look must be maintained across a meal break or recreated the following day, those notes allow the studio to return the face to the approved state without guesswork.
9. Event and Gala Appointments
Event and gala appointments are shaped around the venue lighting and the nature of the celebration. The client agrees to confirm the venue, the arrival time and any access requirements before the day.
Where a guest attends a series of events, the studio may plan a small palette that serves several evenings without repeating the same face. That planning is treated as part of the service and is agreed in writing.
The studio reserves the right to adjust a look on the day where an element would be unsafe or clearly unsuitable for the venue conditions.
Where a guest is attending a celebration held outside the region, the studio may travel with a slightly larger kit so that the look can be maintained across the duration of the event. Any additional travel time is agreed in writing before the booking is confirmed.
The studio treats every guest with the same care, whether the appointment is for a single person or for a large party. A private and unhurried approach is maintained even where several appointments are scheduled in one evening.
10. On Location Services
Where the studio travels to a venue, the client agrees to provide a suitable working space with reasonable lighting and access to a power source where needed. The studio travels with a compact kit and a pre-departure checklist.
Travel beyond the immediate region is quoted after the venue distance is confirmed. Any parking, access or venue fee charged by a third party is the responsibility of the client unless stated otherwise in the confirmation.
The client agrees to provide a printed or digital contact plan so that the studio can be reached during the event without confusion.
Where the venue is a private home, a hall or an outdoor setting, the client is asked to confirm in advance that there is a clean and sheltered area in which the work can be carried out. A stable surface and reasonable light keep the standard high even away from the studio.
The studio arrives with a pre-departure checklist that covers the kit, the latches and the sanitizing supplies. That routine is the same discipline the studio applies to the technical systems it designs, and it is the reason an on location service feels calm rather than improvised.
11. Skincare Preparation and Allergies
Skincare preparation consultations offer practical guidance on hydration, exfoliation and product layering. They are advice, not medical treatment, and they do not replace the guidance of a qualified dermatologist or physician.
Clients agree to disclose known allergies, skin conditions and sensitivities before any product is applied. The studio will adapt its approach in response to that information and will avoid products that have caused a previous reaction.
The studio is not responsible for a reaction that results from a condition or allergy that was not disclosed. If a reaction occurs during a service, the studio will stop, remove the product and offer appropriate first response guidance.
A skincare consultation is not a sales meeting. Recommendations are written down so that a client can act on them at a comfortable pace, and clients are free to buy products from any source they prefer. The studio earns trust by giving honest advice rather than by pushing a purchase.
Where a client is preparing for a major event, the studio recommends beginning any new skincare routine well before the date. Changing a routine close to the event is risky, and the studio will say so plainly rather than allow a last minute experiment to put the day at risk.
12. Cancellations and Rescheduling
A client who wishes to cancel or reschedule should notify the studio as early as possible by email or telephone. The earlier the notice, the more likely a date can be moved without loss.
Cancellations made within the notice period stated in the booking confirmation may forfeit the deposit, because the date was held for the client. A cancellation made with sufficient notice may allow the deposit to be applied to a new date, at the studio discretion.
If the studio must cancel because of illness, an emergency or another reason beyond its control, it will notify the client at once and will return the deposit in full. Where possible, the studio will also suggest a suitable alternative.
A rescheduled wedding can usually be moved once without penalty if the new date is available and the request is made with reasonable notice. The studio understands that plans change, and it approaches each request with fairness rather than a rigid rule.
Where a client simply does not appear for a scheduled appointment, the studio will attempt to make contact before treating the booking as cancelled. If the appointment cannot be recovered on the same day, the deposit may be retained to cover the time that was held.
13. Client Responsibilities
The client agrees to provide accurate information about the event, the venue and the people to be served. The client also agrees to arrive at appointments on time and with clean skin unless the service includes preparation.
The client is responsible for ensuring that any third party venue permits the studio to work on site and that any required access is arranged in advance. Where a minor is to be served, the responsible adult must be present or must give clear written consent.
The client agrees to treat the studio and its equipment with care and to follow reasonable instructions given for safety and hygiene.
Where a client supplies reference images, the studio will treat them as guidance rather than as a guaranteed copy. A photograph taken under different lighting, on a different face, cannot be reproduced exactly, and the studio will always adapt a reference so that it truly suits the person in the chair.
Clients are asked to arrive with clean skin and, where possible, without heavy product already applied, unless the service includes a full preparation step. This protects the finish and keeps the appointment on schedule.
14. Health, Safety and Conduct
The studio maintains a clean and hygienic kit and follows sanitizing routines for brushes, tools and surfaces. The client is asked to disclose any contagious skin condition so that the studio can protect other clients and itself.
The studio reserves the right to end a service where a person behaves in a threatening, abusive or unsafe manner. In that case the fee for the service remains payable, and the studio may decline future bookings.
The studio follows the safety rules of the venues it visits, including fire, access and occupancy requirements. Where a venue rule conflicts with a client request, the venue rule and safety take priority.
The studio keeps its kit clean and its tools sanitized between clients. Brushes are washed, applicators are replaced and surfaces are wiped before each new face, which protects every client in a party and every guest in a sequence.
If a client or a guest appears unwell on the day, the studio may ask that the appointment be paused or rescheduled for the safety of everyone present. That decision is made with care and with the intention of protecting the day rather than spoiling it.
15. Intellectual Property
All content on the website, including text, layout, images and the studio name, is owned by EMMA CAROLINE MUA, LLC or is used with permission. The content may not be copied, reproduced or redistributed for commercial purposes without written permission.
A client may share images of their own finished look freely. Where the studio publishes a portfolio image, it does so only with consent, as described in the Privacy Policy.
The design and code of the website are protected work. Any attempt to copy the website for a competing service is not permitted.
The studio name, the studio marks and the written descriptions of the six services belong to EMMA CAROLINE MUA, LLC. A client may refer to the studio and share links freely, but may not present the studio work as their own or reproduce the website content in a commercial context.
Where the studio delivers computer integrated systems design work, the ownership of any custom software, records or documentation produced for a client is set out in the written agreement for that project. In the absence of such an agreement, the studio retains ownership of the underlying tools while the client keeps the benefit of the delivered result.
16. Limitation of Liability
The studio provides its services with reasonable skill and care. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the studio is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the use of the website or from a booking.
Where liability cannot be excluded, the studio responsibility is limited to the amount paid for the specific service concerned. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
The studio is not responsible for delays or losses caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, transport failure, venue closure or a public emergency. In such cases the studio will communicate promptly and work toward a fair solution.
The studio maintains appropriate care in the handling of personal products and equipment, but it does not accept liability for damage that results from a disclosed allergy or from a product that a client chooses to supply on their own initiative.
Nothing in this section is intended to remove a right that a client holds under a consumer protection law that cannot be waived. Where such a law applies, it takes priority over any limitation written here.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which the studio operates, the state of Utah in the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules.
If a dispute arises, both parties agree to try to resolve it through good faith discussion first. Most concerns can be settled quickly with a clear conversation by email or telephone.
Where a dispute cannot be resolved through discussion, it will be handled by the courts of the relevant jurisdiction in the United States, unless applicable law requires another forum.
18. Changes to These Terms
The studio may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the law, in its services or in the way it works. When a change is made, the effective date at the top of the page is revised.
A confirmed booking is governed by the terms in force when the booking was confirmed, unless the client agrees to the updated version. Continued use of the website after a change takes effect means that the updated terms apply to website use.
19. Contact Information
Questions about these terms can be sent to the studio at any time. The studio welcomes clear questions and will answer them promptly.
